2025 Week 14 LoL FFL Post

BROUGHT TO YOU THIS WEEK BY NAZ

THE FINAL REGULAR SEASON POST - NEXT WILL BE AFTER THE POSTSEASON

The final set of games to determine the final outcomes... A whole lot of possibilities from these games for how the playoffs will play out. The matchups and outcomes did not disappoint. FIVE teams finished at 7-7 - absolutely wild. Two of them made the playoffs and three headed to the consolation bracket. A crazy finish to a crazy season. Let's dive into the matchups before we dive into the numbers some more.

Naz v Sean

Essentially a playoff game for Sean. A loss meant a certain elimination and boy did his team know it. They did not let him down. An easy win and secured the $10 for the week with the highest points while at it. Ja'marr Chase and Justin Jefferson, you would think would be the carrying points of the team. Their total? A combined 9.8 points. You read that right! Two of the best receives in the game, scoring less than 10 points combined when it matters the most. But it didn't matter for Sean's team. A combined whopping 40 points from the defense and kicker along with almost 40 points from Josh Allen was more than enough to carry the team to victory! Also helps that Etienne dropped his season high of 20+ points, Bucky Irving is back and rolling, and DK had his 2nd best game of the season. That outpour also helped widen the gap in points scored, which ultimately ended up being the factor that allowed Sean to make the playoffs. I, on the other hand, did not stand a chance. Going into the playoffs, my team is now 2-6 to finish the season with a 4-game losing streak. It is not looking good by any means. Not to mention, four of those losses were by 5-6 points; it's just brutal out here. Nevertheless, the season total points scored was more than enough to clinch a playoff spot with the 5-way tiebreaker. Both teams are in.

Yas v Colten

Similar to Sean, Colten's team also showed up when he needed a win for a chance at the playoffs. Unfortunately for him though, it did not matter as the points scored on the season wasn't enough to win the tiebreaker. A season best from his defense and kicker along with 33.5 points from Gibbs was enough to beat Yaseer and eliminate him right along side himself. Yaseer's team, much like Kansas City, did not show up when he needed them to. Both finished at 7-7 and both lost the 5-way tiebreaker to just miss the playoffs.

Kcos v Alex

ONE WIN. JUST ONE WIN. All Kyriacos needed to avoid being in the last place game. Nevertheless, a rough slide and unfortunate matchups to end the season leaving Kyriacos in a place we all though Ali would be in after the deadline - facing Parth for last place. Alex gets the division win and bye week after this one and Kyriacos finishes the season on a 5-game losing streak, of which the last 4 were lost by 6 or less points each... Just tragic - I know the feeling. CMC on a bye this week was just bad luck when you needed him the most plus Daniels getting hurt again and finishing with less than 3 points was a brutal way to lose. Couldn't even get the win when Hurts had 0.4 points for Alex. Absolute tough sledding out here.

Ali v Humza

Ali, needing a win to avoid the last place game, accomplished his mission! Humza's team, decided to just not show up this time. Just Goff, Williams, and Brown with more than 8 points for this team - not nearly enough. Ali's team of misfits gets the job done. Humza, not needing a win, just coasts into the playoffs. Ali avoids the last place game and can now look forward to next year.

Rimmel v Ahsan

Ahsan needed a win to have a shot at the playoffs. He got the job done, carried by a combined 37 points from his defense and kicker, but unfortunately for him, the tiebreaker did not go in his favor. Rimmel, who already clinched the division and bye coasted through this week with essentially two bye weeks to prep for the semifinals... Must be nice.

Chris v Parth

A game of no consequence. Chris is in the playoffs and Parth is out and in the last place game. Nothing crazy here; both teams sub-100 here this week. To the next week, we move.

Most Points Against: Sean (1545.7)

Least Points Against: Ali (1332.6)

Another season of 7-7 for me... It's actually crazy how many times this has happened. The same scenario again. Most points scored out of everyone and 4th most points against, resulting in a 7-7 season. Absolutely bizarre. Here's a little breakdown of years past:

YEAR | RECORD | PF | PA

2025 | 7-7 | 1st | 4th

2024 | 8-6 | 3rd | 1st - Championship

2023 | 4-10 | 12th | 1st - Year I tanked

2022 | 7-7 | 5th | 4th

2021 | 8-6 | 2nd | 4th

2020 | 7-7   | 5th | 4th

2019 | 7-7 | 1st | 1st - Championship

2018 | 3-11 | 10th | 2nd

2017 | 7-7   | 4th | 4th

2016 | 6-8 | 8th | 6th

2015 | 9-5 | 2nd | 4th

2014 | 7-7 | 3rd | 4th

2013 | 7-7 | 4th | 3rd

2012 | 10-3-1 | 3rd | 7th - Championship

2011 | 8-6 | 3rd | 4th

So here's some facts from this list:

  • Since 2012, I have finished 7-7 SEVEN times out of the 13 years... over half the time. 3 of the other 6 years, I finished 6-8 or 8-6...

  • Since league inception, over 15 years, I have had top 4 points scored against me EVERY SINGLE YEAR except for twice, way back in 2012 and 2016... hasn't happened since, which means NINE straight years of a tough schedule...

  • Just to put this all in perspective, Rimmel, who has been in the league for the same amount of time, doesn't have the same scheduling... He has finished 7-7 just twice and only had top 4 points scored against just FIVE times in 15 years, and NONE since 2019....

  • The luck of fantasy kills me on the inside...

In conclusion, I think it might be time for some changes...
