KYRIACOS WEEK 2 LoL FFL POST:

What a great Week 2 boys! I can’t believe we’re already 11.111111% done with the NFL season! We have 2 teams atop their respective divisions in Ali, Alex, Chris (FU), and Yas - ALL at 2-0! That’s a big damn deal for everyone, minus Chris, who traded away his top scorer the last 2 weeks for a Bengals RB and spent $100 on a Defense/Special Teams unit, only because they’re playing his shattered Houston Texans for 1 single week! Fuck you CBreezy!!

ree

Okay let’s jump into Matchup Analysis:

THE MATCHUPS

Ahsan vs Kyriacos

Well obviously, we need to start with the best team in the league in Kyriacos! He has done such a great job of managing his future draft picks and ‘’Trusting the Process’’…It’s so great to see an owner not mortgage it all for temporary gains! I was worried when the A-A-Ron brothers started going off! They combined for 65.3 points alone! But sadly, this matchup came down to ‘’El Tractocito’’ Derrick Henry putting my team on his F’ing back!! WHAT A BEAST!! Ahsan unfortunately falls to 0-2, starting the Ravens D against the Chiefs was risky. Also, Marquez Calloway went full ghost-mode, along with the Saints as a whole! These 2 teams will meet again with likely a much different outcome! S/o to my homie Ahsan!

Sean vs Rimmel

This was a great matchup; however, Sean changed his team’s name to COOKED halfway through the noon o’clock games! Unfortunately, Tyreek Hill was double covered the entire game by the Ravens D, DJ Chark went MIA, and Kareem Hunt was in the dumps. The Falcons inept offensive helps Rimmel to a victory, as DozeNuts were heavily applied to Sean’s face. Looking at Sean’s bench tells a drastically different story. It’s tough when Marquise Brown is sitting with 20 points. I do believe Sean will make a run at the playoffs though. His team is too nice not to make it. Great win for Rimmel, who quietly is becoming my favorite player (Thanks for the 7th overall my man)

Humza vs Alex

This was one of the closest games of the week! (However, Naz lost the closest haha) In this one, it all came down to Devante Adams, who beat his average of 12.1 points to score 16.1 points, covering the 3.3-point difference in the final outcome. Humza likely loves Dak Prescott, who had a pedestrian game against the Chargers, of 7.4 points. Kirk ‘’I don’t need no vaccine’’ Cousins scores 25.1 points in a shoot-out in Arizona but was relegated to the bench in our league. Brandin Cooks and Jamar ‘’I hit women’’ Chase also was left down below with a combined 30.7 points. I’ve been there and that is just TOUGH! Great win Alex! Kyler Murray is the top scoring QB through 2 weeks!

For those that don't know, Alex is a Vikings fan... this is them every game-winning kick opportunity that they have (Sorry, I had too)

ree

Naz vs Ali

My favorite breakdown of the week is next! WHY NAZ WHY…as in why does this happen to you so often. It came down to the final minutes of the Packers/Lions game and Jamaal Williams seals the final nail in the Comish coffin! What a finish! Naz would have won if he: played Julio Jones, played Tyson Williams, played Sterling Shepard, or if CeeDee Lamb doesn’t pitch the ball to Zeke on pre-halftime crazy play! It’s got to be tough to lose this way! Naz specializes in it haha…On the flip side some great plays by Ali - Zach Moss was the only player left on the bench who outscored his starters! And Scary Terry had a career day at Naz’s expense!!! Naz falls to 0-2 after a C- draft grade!

ree

Yas vs Colten

This matchup was the biggest point spread of the week! Yaseer decided to ruin my chances of being top scorer by starting 2 TEs and having a RB at QB! (Sorry Lamar but it’s true) …Mind you that this point total occurred without a RB2, as Trey Sermon might as well have been named FuckStick McGee coming in with a 0.8 total. Sadly, for Colten, Saquon continues to baffle us all as he is currently the 48th rated RB with only 5.6 points per game. Yas is now 2-0 and DoughBoi falls to 0-2 but CONGRATS ON GETTING MARRIED HOMIE!!

Chris aka LilGayBoi vs Parth

Last up we got LilGayBoi himself facing off against Parth. Reminder Parth was Naz preseason pick to Win It ALL, but now falls to 0-2 on the year. Ole LilGayBoi lucks out again with a 27.8-point performance from Tyler ‘’I’ve never had sex before’’ Lockett. In true Chris fashion, Matthew E. Gay knocks 2 FGs and 3 XPs in the center asshole of the goal posts! It didn’t help that Jarvis ‘’We takin bout practice’’ Landry limped off the field in the 1st quarter like the true bitch that he is. He got Parth only 1.4 points, when a simple Marvin Jones start woulda won him the damn game. All in all, LilGayBoi survived another week, but I predict a run of Ls heading his way. Parth’s team is too good to continue this path. I trust it will be fixed this week, because NO ONE wants to be 0-3…Besides the likely and undeniable 0-3 Naz start, coming in Week 3.

NAZIM WEEK 2 LoL FFL POST

Great stuff by Kyriacos this week. Definitely saved me some time, but still have some other stuff to add just for fun. More stats, more predictions, more fun! Enjoy!

A unique analysis and hit the major highlights. I didn’t look too much more into each of the matchups to see if there were other key details to mention, but I did see a lot in my matchup and my history, so I let Kyriacos finish, but Imma add to it. But before I deep dive into a bunch of stats and blow everyone’s minds, let’s mention some random things.

Sean with the lowest scoring team this week. Can we start implementing a weekly punishment? I suggest we just follow what the bleacher report league is doing each week. The fans vote on the punishment and this week it was writing a song about how bad your team is! I think it would be fun to see that stuff. Sean, you down for it? Start it and we’ll keep it going!

Some other notes, Yaseer’s 2 TE system working like magic right now. Unbelievable stuff. Also, the greatest new team name in the history of team names? I wonder how he came up with such greatness. It is truly remarkable and my new favorite team. I want Yaseer to win now so the name can be forever implemented onto the league’s trophy. Speaking of name changes, for those of you that continuously change names, I will not update the website with your name each time. It’s too much to keep track of and I have no idea what to put on the trophy when it keeps changing. So, we’ll just make it a league rule that you all cannot win. That means you Kyriacos. Thank you for finally changing your team’s name, Ali! Parth, what are you doing? There is no slacking just cause you’re getting married. CHANGE IT! YOU DON’T HAVE NICK CHUBB ON YOUR TEAM. Sean, you sticking with that new name?? You get one more change, and then you become Kyriacos and the rule applies to you too! I would also suggest a name change for Ahsan, considering it has never changed in 5+ years and there has been 0 championships since you’ve been in the league. It’s time. 0-2, big trade, make a push. The team deserves a new name! Maybe something with A considering you’re Ahsan, and you have Aaron, Aaron, AJ, and Amari on your team? Something to consider.

Change is KEY

WEEK 1 POST REVIEW

I just wanted to follow up on some things I mentioned from the week 1 post and see how things turned out:

- Last week, I pointed out the big differential between division scoring. In week 1, the

Young Guns outscored the Veteran Leaders by almost 200 points but in week 2, The

Young Guns were outscored by 40 points. A nice flip to see the divisions are somewhat

balanced.

- Last week, Kyriacos was given a 64% chance of making the playoffs when he was 0-1.

Now that he is 1-1, it’s up to 77%. A nice little bump to give him the third highest

chance of making it.

- Last week, Rimmel was given a 10% chance of making the playoffs when he was 0-1.

Now that he is 1-1, it’s up to 16%. Still the lowest of the league and least likely to make

it. But like Sean said if he loses to Rimmel, time to tank the season. Lots on the line if

Rimmel somehow makes the playoffs… Per Ahsan, he will remove himself from the

league if Rimmel is in and he’s not. Not looking to great right now, starting 0-2 with a

29% chance of making it to the playoffs. Still higher than Rimmel though, so still some

light at the end of the tunnel.

- Last week, I showcased how scoring was higher for more players in week 1 across the

board. Through week 2, it looks a little different for consistency ratings. QB’s and TE’s

are about the same from 2020 to 2021. But in terms of RB’s and WR’s, it has changed

quite a bit. The following just goes to show RB’s are hard to come by and passing has

been more prevalent this year compared to last. We’ll see if this trend continues into

next week. Through 2 weeks:

o In 2020, 11 RB’s and 13 WR’s scored 15+ points/week

o In 2021, 8 RB’s and 18 WR’s scored 15+ points/week

- Lots of QB injuries this week. Will that impact the stats going forward? Let’s see how it

shakes down in week 3.

- Last week, I pointed out all the players that were drafted in the top 25 and struggled

during week 1. I told you not to worry, and I was right. Every one of those players,

except for Saquon produced 15+ points in week 2, with a few with some extra good

weeks. Those players in week 2:

o Derrick Henry: 44.7 – And definitely did not have a season ending injury,

unless you consider the entire Seahawks defense now destroyed by his

performance… They’re definitely hurt after that game.

o Zeke: 16.7

o Aaron Jones: 38.5 – So many TD’s.

o Saquon: 7.9

o Najee Harris: 16.6

o Devonte Adams: 16.1

o Calvin Ridley: 15.8

o Mike Evans: 22.0 – Oddly familiar to last year when he had 6.7 and then 35

points the following week (2021 week 1: 3.9)

We ALL have more career receiving yards in the NFL than Kadarius Toney

AUCTION REPORT

- Chris was able to pick up Derek Carr for $10 over Alex ($6) & Nazim ($2) as well as the

Carolina Defense ($100) over Sean ($0)

Huge pickup for Chris with Carr when he’s healthy to compliment the inconsistent and unpredictable Ryan Tannehill. But you must wonder if this auction win will result in the same way my win last week did. I was able to win the auction for Elijah Mitchell and started him, which cost me the win. With Derek Carr in the lineup this week, will Tannehill have a better game and cost Chris the win this week? On the flipside, he got a defense for an amount waaaaay too high but did a solid job on Thursday night. Sean’s got to do more than that if he wants to beat me this week.

THE NAZ START

In the words of Humza, “I hate when I lose with such close margin”. I don’t know why, but I imagine that quote with an Asian accent. It is definitely tough, Humza. I would know. 2 weeks into the season now, I lost by 4.3 points and 0.4 points in week 1 and week 2, respectively. A combined difference through 2 weeks of 4.7 points. It is just absurd to see. Scoring 117+ points in each week should get you at least 1 win, but it hasn’t. Matchups are just unfortunate. I now have the 4th most points scored in the league and 3rd most points scored against me on the season. Week 2 was especially difficult since it was so drawn out and I could see what was happening in slow motion. Kyriacos got most of the possibilities of what could have been, but there was more. In addition to playing any of my backups and CeeDee getting those extra yards, it’s worth noting that me winning the auction for Elijah Mitchell led to this result. If I didn’t get him, he wouldn’t have been in my lineup, and I would’ve won. If he didn’t get hurt, he gets another carry and I possibly win. If Terry McLaurin doesn’t have a career best in receptions and targets, I possibly win. If Kelce doesn’t absolutely embarrass the defense on his TD, I possibly win. If New England doesn’t give up 50 yards of garbage time offense to the Jets, I win. If Pittsburgh doesn’t hold the Raiders to a field goal at the end of the game, I win. If Russell Wilson doesn’t get a stupid 10 yard rush and 25 yard throw with no time left and no chance of winning, I win. I kid you not, I literally was watching that with my dad and told him, “I swear I’m going to lose because of that 10 yard rush,” which had no impact on the game, and that is exactly what happened.

ree

Nevertheless, I am now 0-2 along with 3 other teams. We’ll look at what it means for me in a second, but let’s take a look at league history first. Our league is balanced right now with 4 teams each at 2-0, 1-1, and 0-2. What does this mean? Well, keep in mind with everything I’m saying, we now have 12 teams and 6 playoff teams. We have never had that. In addition, 2020 was 8 teams, but every other year has been 10 teams and 4 playoff teams. I only went and looked at our history for the past 5 years because all 10 years would have taken too long. But since 2016, we have had 9 teams start 0-2. Of those 9 teams, only 3 won in week 3 to avoid an 0-3 start. 1 team of the 6 that were 0-3 made the playoffs and 1 of the 3 teams to start 1-2 made the playoffs. Never in our league’s history has a team started 0-2 and won the championship, so it’s not looking good for me, Ahsan, Parth, and Sean. But there’s always a first for everything. On the flipside, no one since 2016 has won the championship after starting 2-0. And no one in our league’s history has won after starting 3-0. So be careful what you wish for this week, Ali, Alex, Yaseer, and Chris. A couple of other things I noticed while looking at our history: Ali has made the playoffs for the past 4 years in a row. Props to that, but in all 4 years, has failed to win the championship. *Cough Cough*. Buffalo. *Cough Cough*. In a reduced league in 2020, it was the first time Ahsan made the playoffs since he’s been in the league (2016). In 2016, Arshad won and then immediately got last place in 2017. In 2017, Yaseer won and the immediately got last place in 2018. And 2019. And 2020. Arshad just quit the league after getting last. Yaseer was a real one and took the bullet for all of us and endured the bottom of the pit for all of us. But now, his back is fixed, and he is ready to rise to save Gotham. I mean, win the league... Or at least, not get last place. A 2-0 start is a great way to avoid last place. No team has ever started 2-0 and ended up as last place in our league’s history. So, rest easy knowing that you are safe from that, Ali, Alex, Yaseer, and Chris. But again, there’s a first for everything.

ree

Now let’s look at my team and my history. It’s a doozy. I’ve started 0-2 3 times in our league’s history. The results: worst record but won the loser’s game, missed playoffs by 1 game but won the consolation bracket, and won the championship. I’m not saying this is a good sign, but my season seems to end well when I start 0-2 for some reason. You may be asking what my record was throughout our 10-year history. Well, I can tell you my record has never been better than 9-5 and I’ve finished 3-11 that year I won the loser’s game. In the other 8 years, well there was an 8-6 season and a 6-8 season. The other 6 seasons? You ready for this? 7-7. SEVEN AND SEVEN FOR 6 YEARS. Could I be any more like the Cowboys?!? It’s just absurd how that occurs. I’ve won 2 championships in our league’s history. What was my record those years? SEVEN AND SEVEN! Missed the playoffs? SEVEN AND SEVEN. I won 2 years ago and was 7-7. What did it take? Scoring the most points in the league by 100+ points but also being scored on the most by 100+ points. Clearly, close matchups have never been favorable for me. Then, as I was researching prior years, I realized I played Ali in week 1 every year, and I thought this year would be different, playing him in week 2 instead. Still the same result, losing another close matchup. I am doomed to repeat 7-7 no matter what. Then, I realized that the NFL changed this year, there’s an extra game, I can no longer be 7-7!!! But then I also realized that we added a playoff week and there are still 14 regular season games… I will go 7-7 this year, again. It might as well be the easiest bet to make. I’ll put the odds at -250 for anyone willing to take it! Anyways, I digress. It is what it is.
