DRAFT DAY
“Shrooms might be haram but that’s when I found God”
The quote of the year – brought to you by the one and only Chris. Simply iconic and you just had to be there – sorry Parth! It was a great draft weekend in Denver this year. Lots of new things implemented and a lot to look forward to. I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. It’s always one of my favorite weekends of the year, whether I have no draft picks or too many. I love that we get to just hang out in a nice house somewhere away from home. I just wanted to let everyone know that I appreciate the commitment everyone in the league has made to make this a yearly occurring thing. I know everyone has busy lives and families, so I sincerely thank everyone for their efforts in making my vision come true.
Now that the draft is complete and football is back, it’s time to get going! Lots of trades done, mostly on my accord, but plenty of things to update. A new spreadsheet will be loaded for 2026 picks as they are now eligible for trades. More destinations, punishments, and rules, so those will all be updated on the website as well. Looking at the draft board, things moved quickly now that we have gone electronic with our board. The top of the board was somewhat predictable but then got interesting after that. Historically speaking, the winner of the league usually picks in the 5-10 spots. In fact, 11 out of the 12 years that has happened. Being on the turn just doesn’t usually end well for results. So, looking at who was picking in those spots: Alex, Parth, Humza, Yaseer, Sean, and Ali, we’ll see if any of them end up winning at the end of the year. That being said, I don’t think my position counts, seeing as I only picked from my position 4 times in this draft… I know everyone expects me to do well, but you never know. My luck has always been bad in this league. Nevertheless, we shall see.
I wanted to just point out and re-iterate the league cup rules that are in effect this year, which are posted to the website. It’s weeks 8-10 with the top 2 teams competing in week 11 for the prize. See the website for more details.
Other notes added to the website:
- Trades
- 2025 & 2026 Draft Locations
- 2024 Last Place Punishment
- Rule changes (new keeper rule in effect 2025/2026)
Now on to some analysis of the draft!
DRAFT ANALYSIS
I was going to look at all the trades and what my picks would have been before all the moves and afterwards, but I honestly don’t want to spend the time doing that and I think I would just end up being disappointed… so let’s move on to team breakdowns.
Humza:
The big highlight here is Chase. Just a big bet on a guy that may or may not play. That remains to be seen. A solid floor pickup with Adams and a good RB with Kenneth Walker. After that though, a lot of guys that will be boom or bust.
Deep Picks with Value to Break Out: Blake Corum – 1 injury away from top 10 RB
Best Pick: Calvin Ridley at pick #90
Worst Pick: Jamar Chase
Draft Grade: B
Chris:
Run-CMC back at it again! Just not a lot after that unfortunately. Mahomes will always be solid. Achane will hopefully bloom for you here and Diggs will hopefully not fall off. RB depth is just not there right now and betting on GB WR’s, I hope one of them pays off.
Deep Picks with Value to Break Out: Rome Odunze at pick #96
Best Pick: CMC
Worst Pick: George Pickens – as long as Russ is QB
Draft Grade: C+
Yaseer:
Just absolutely stealing Kincaid from me in the 4th… Sad. But nonetheless, relying on not one, but two NFC north RB’s?! Crazy stuff. Aaron Jones and DeAndre Swift to start with 3 interesting QB’s to rotate through? It’s going to be an interesting year here.
Deep Picks with Value to Break Out: Ladd McConkey
Best Pick: Dalton Kincaid
Worst Pick: Aaron Jones
Draft Grade: B-
Nazim:
Draft Grade: F

Ali:
An interesting mix of guys here. 3 good RB’s and a solid WR/TE to carry. Not too bad here. Took Jonathan Brooks from me, way earlier than I expected him to go, but a good stash. WR depth might come into question here, but nothing that can’t be relived on waivers.
Deep Picks with Value to Break Out: Jonathan Brooks, Xavier Worthy
Best Pick: Drake London
Worst Pick: Dak Prescott at pick #63
Draft Grade: A-
Alex:
Not JJ in the first. Blasphemy. Taking the solid PPR machine, Amon-Ra St. Brown, instead. Took my sleeper WR this year, Scary Terry, from me. Love James Connor where he went too and WR depth is nice, but RB depth and TE’s are looking a little weak. Going to need some help there.
Deep Picks with Value to Break Out: Tony Pollard
Best Pick: Terry McLaurin
Worst Pick: Nico Collins
Draft Grade: B+
Rimmel:
Great picks at the top of the draft, but the depth guys not so much in my opinion. Taking a huge gamble on Saquon, which will either pay off big time or be a big letdown. I lean towards the former but remains to be seen. An acceptable take considering pairing him with the floor safe Etienne, Metcalf, Nacua, and Evans. The scoring should be consistent.
Deep Picks with Value to Break Out: DeAndre Hopkins
Best Pick: Travis Etienne
Worst Pick: Puka Nacua
Draft Grade: A-
Ahsan:
Just a bunch of guys I would never draft on my teams, except for Josh Jacobs, that will probably do okay but be annoying to have. I have 9 fantasy teams and on none of them do I have Purdy, Gibbs, Brown, Higgins, and Aiyuk. I hate having them, but they’re not bad…
Deep Picks with Value to Break Out: Chase Brown, Keon Coleman
Best Pick: Christian Kirk, Josh Jacobs
Worst Pick: Everyone I named above
Draft Grade: B
Sean:
Like the WR’s but not so much the RB’s. Not to say they won’t do okay, just not the guys I was targeting. Having Ferguson and Pitts should be interesting too. Interested to see how most of these guys end up playing.
Deep Picks with Value to Break Out: Christian Watson
Best Pick: Jake Ferguson
Worst Pick: Rhamondre Stevenson
Draft Grade: B
Parth:
It’s just tough out here without a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Going to be hoping for a lot of specific scenarios to play out this year to have a chance. Got to work the waiver wire every week. It can be done. You just have to believe.
Deep Picks with Value to Break Out: Gus Edwards
Best Pick: Chris Godwin
Worst Pick: Dalton Schultz
Draft Grade: C+
Kyriacos:
We’ve been through this too many times… You know what it is lol.
Deep Picks with Value to Break Out: Rico Dowdle
Best Pick: Rashee Rice
Worst Pick: Josh Allen
Draft Grade: C
Colten:
Without a first, terrific job. Good value in my opinion with the rest of the picks minus Amari Cooper, but who knows once Watson gets “hurt”.
Deep Picks with Value to Break Out: Dionte Johnson
Best Pick: Isaiah Pacheco, A-Rich, Waddle, Ford
Worst Pick: Amari Cooper
Draft Grade: A
